SCREENWRITING WEBINARS

4 per month (Sundays @ 4pm PT)

These 90-minute sessions are taught by working screenwriters and industry executives. A comprehensive range of writing and marketing topics is covered by each professional. A live Q&A follows every presentation to address your specific concerns.

WRITING WORKSHOP

1 per month

Submit up to 10 pages of your material, questions and issues to focus on to an executive for review prior to the workshop. During the session, you and the other writers will take turns discussing your pages and receiving suggestions/advice from the executive in an intimate group setting. You’ll get clarity on what can be improved in your pages from a working exec who develops and sells material for a living.

SCREENWRITING CHALLENGE

1 per month

An executive assigns the same writing challenge to the group where each writer crafts a 3-page opening scene based on the logline the exec provides. The executive will review each writer’s submission prior to the session and then lead a discussion and critique with the group (limited to 12 writers). You’ll learn to step outside of your comfort zone and stretch your imagination.

PITCH ROUNDTABLE

1 per month

A group of writers takes turns verbally pitching their projects to an industry executive who will discuss strengths and areas of improvement specific to their pitch in an intimate group setting. Learn from the feedback given to you and the feedback given to your peers.

COMBS' CORNER

1 per month

Roadmap's Creative Director Brandon Combs gives you a behind-the-scenes look at pitch sessions, interacting with executives, the life of an aspiring screenwriter, tips on staying sane, avoiding writer’s block, networking techniques, getting your work out there and more!

10-MINUTE STRATEGY CALLS

1 per month

You'll be able to talk shop with Roadmap's Director of Writer Outreach, Briana Hansen to help you nail down a strategy for your writing moving forward. After sending a one-page summary (bio, loglines, current traction), you'll be able to set a call and Briana to help you focus in on your goals!

PEER-TO-PEER

SESSIONS

Mondays at 6pm PT

You’ll join other members on ZOOM (web conferencing software) to practice your screenwriting pitches. There will not be a moderator or an exec present — this is just for extra practice with your screenwriting network! You may also choose to use this session for a Logline Clinic if you need help writing loglines, tonal comps and much more.
