Since 2016, Slamdance and Roadmap Writers have partnered to bring an industry immersive 6-week program for all writers. This 6-week online program gives writers the tools to continuously put their best material forward and teach them how to position themselves in the marketplace. This 6-week program teaches writers how to perfect their pitch, how to streamline and polish their plot and how to overall strengthen their pages.

 

The first 2 weeks are be taught by active Slamdance readers where they not only give writers tools on how to perfect their pitch, but also instruct writers on how to avoid some of the biggest mistakes that are made that prevent scripts from progressing in contests. The following 4 weeks are be taught by some of the industry's most respected producers, managers and executives! 

 

After Slamdance announces their winners, the participants in this online workshop will have the opportunity to virtually pitch their work to 1 executive for FREE.

OVERVIEW

 

Welcome to Slamdance and Roadmap Writers collaborative 6-week program for emerging screenplay writers! This program is for feature and TV writers that want greater knowledge in polishing and strengthening scripted work, marketplace positioning and successfully pitching to the industry.

 

Each class is limited to 20 writers and will meet three hours every Saturday for 6 weeks. All classes are online so you can be anywhere in the world to participate.

 

The workshops will include educational lectures, personalized feedback, interactive discussions and homework geared to strengthen your material.

Following Slamdance's announcement of their 2018 Screenplay Competition winners,  workshop participants will be provided the opportunity to virtually pitch their work to one industry executive via Skype during a special 1-weekend pitching event.
