Weekend Box Office Top Ten:

DEADPOOL 2 is a big #1 with $125M (million) domestic, and $301M global debut. Produced for $110M plus marketing, this one will be profitable for Fox by the middle of this upcoming week, with much more to be earned. Though down slightly from the first film's domestic opening, international is expected to be bigger and make up the difference on this R-rated hit.

AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR slid to #2 with $28.6M, a domestic haul of $595M, and a huge global take of $1.813 Billion. With a budget said to be around $300M, this film's success has made it wildly profitable for Marvel and Disney, who may yet do it all over again next summer with the fourth "Avengers."

BOOK CLUB opened at #3 with a solid $12.5M, and is expected to have legs as the older audiences do not rush out on the first weekend typically to see a film. This should continue to do good business for Paramount in the coming weeks.

LIFE OF THE PARTY is #4 with $7.7M, and a total of $31M so far, a decent result but showing the diminishing returns of star Melissa McCarthy, who could use an outright hit again even as she brings in a loyal fanbase.

BREAKING IN is #5 with $6.4M, and a total of $28.7M. Produced for only $6M plus a modest marketing campaign, this one will be profitable theatrically, before doing even bigger business on the home markets.

SHOW DOGS opened at #6 with just $6M, below tracking and a very disappointing debut for a family title.

OVERBOARD is #7 with $4.7M, a domestic total of $36.9M, and a worldwide total of $49M. Produced for around $15M plus marketing, this one is already profitable, with a bit more to be earned, as it looks to become star Eugenio Derbez's top U.S. release in a lead role if it can surpass the $44M total of "Instructions Not Included."

A QUIET PLACE slipped to #8 with $4M, a domestic total now of $176M, and an even more impressive global total of $296.4M. Produced for only $17M plus marketing, this has been a big hit for Paramount, with sequel plans already announced as they look to turn this one into an original franchise.

RAMPAGE is #9 with $1.5M, a domestic total of $92.4M, and a much bigger worldwide take of $406M. Produced for $120M plus marketing, this one has become nicely profitable for WB, and continuing star Dwayne Johnson's winning streak at the box office.

RBG is #10 with $1.2M, and a total of $3.8M as it makes a surprise appearance at the bottom of the top ten this weekend, a solid result.

Next weekend is the lucrative Memorial Day Weekend holiday, and will be ruled by SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY as the only new wide release, while Deadpool and his X-Force pals will enjoy a good hold in second place.
