BLACK PANTHER is #1 with a stunning $235M (Million) 4-day debut, which becomes the top opening weekend (4-day) for a Marvel film ever, and the 3rd biggest 4-day opening of all-time, behind only THE FORCE AWAKENS and THE LAST JEDI. Worldwide opening weekend stands at $404M, with much, much more to come. PETER RABBIT held at #2 with $23.1M, a domestic total of $54M, with international yet to roll out. Produced for $50M plus marketing, the film should have no problem becoming nicely profitable for Sony. FIFTY SHADES FREED is #3 with $19.4M, a domestic total of $78.6M, and a global take of $269.4M. Produced for $55M plus marketing, the film is already profitable for Universal, and the trilogy has earned more than $1 Billion. JUMANJI: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE is #4 with $10M, a domestic haul of $379.6M, and a huge global total of $906M, more than 10X its opening weekend debut, and more than 10X its production budget of $90M. THE 15:17 TO PARIS is #5 with $9.1M, a domestic total of $26.8M, and an early $37.5M worldwide. Produced for $30M plus marketing, the film should be able to reach profitable range theatrically. THE GREATEST SHOWMAN is #6 with $6.2M, a domestic total of $155M, and $341.2M worldwide. Produced for $84M plus marketing, this film has become a very nice hit for Fox. EARLY MAN is #7 with a disappointing debut of $4.2M, on the low end of expectations for Lionsgate. MAZE RUNNER: THE DEATH CURE is #8 with $3.1M, a domestic total of $54.6M, and a much bigger global total of $259.8M. Produced for $62M plus marketing, this film has become a nicely profitable hit for Fox, thanks again to international which represents 79% of the box office total. WINCHESTER is #9 with $2.6M, and a total of $22.2M, with international yet to make any debuts. THE POST is #10 with $2.4M, a domestic total of $77M, and a worldwide total of $134.6M. Produced for $50M plus marketing, the film is right in the range of being profitable for Fox. Next weekend sees the debuts of GAME NIGHT from Warner Bros., and ANNIHILATION from Paramount, though the Wakandan heroes will again easily rule at number one.
