As writers, we’re always encouraged to find our unique voice, but I think it should be the other way around. Your voice should find you. How can we as writers facilitate that you may ask? The most direct, but not necessarily the simplest way is to write. Write every day. Write boldly. Write as if there will be no tomorrow.
Also, read selectively and intensely. Let yourself be inspired. Free yourself from the bonds of convention, listen to the far away drum.
