Don't Step Into a Plot Hole: Mark's Resource Roundup

We’ve all seen the countless cartoons about a clueless person stepping into an open manhole. We as screenwriters are often so enamored with our story we do not see a plot hole until we fall into it. There are three approaches to a story:
Stream of Consciousness
Analytical Approach
Methodical Approach
Each has its merits and its flaws, but whichever approach you use there are no guarantees that you will avoid plot holes. Something about the best-laid plans. A great outline helps, but I find that without a great character to push that plot, you’re likely to step into a hole you dug for yourself. More on that later.
Keep writing,
Mark
