I believe we as writers have an obligation to reflect society back unto itself. To hold a mirror to the human condition in a way that educates and heals. Now while writing a script may not directly help feed starving children in Africa it can help the world in a sideways direction.
The latest research shows that expressing emotions in words can speed physical and mental healing. Indigenous people the world over have believed in the healing power of story for centuries. The sharing of a personal story can open minds, touch hearts and effect change.
While your script about ninja emojis (please feel free to steal this idea) may not directly heal a person, but a deeply personal emotion embedded in the story may in a sideways kind of way set a person on a journey towards healing. Check out the links below for more ways your writing can pay it sideways by giving a story to someone.
Keep writing,
Mark
