A Premise is a Promise: Mark's Resource Roundup

What the heck is a premise anyway? Well, as you can see from the links below it can mean different things to different people. Is it the same as a logline? Is it your “theme”? “What’s it all about, Alfie?”

The way I see it, a premise is a promise. It’s a promise you make to yourself and ultimately to the audience. It is more than what your screenplay is about, it’s what you are about as a writer.

Stay true to your premise, stay true to yourself.

Keep on writing,

Mark
