It gets to a point where it's almost scary to turn on your computer or the news in fear of discovering what fresh tragedies are occurring in our world.
Overwhelming. Challenging. Horrifying. It can feel like it's all too much.
But we must all step up and make change, no matter what exactly that change looks like. One person can make a huge difference. Every month, Roadmap is going to highlight one of our writers that is making an active positive change in the world and give back to that writer.
This month we would like to spotlight Betty Sullivan.
Betty is active in disaster relief initiatives, like helping those affected in Puerto Rico and Houston. For years, she fostered and hosted several at risk, sexually abused or homeless women and children in need. Recently, she's been active overseas with needed supplies and promoting awareness to protect young refugees from falling prey to human trafficking rings.
Roadmap wants to give back to Betty and has reached out to a few of our executive contacts who eagerly offered to connect with Betty to mentor her in her screenwriting. This includes executives from New Republic Pictures, Grey Matter Productions, Ryan Reynolds' company Dark Trick Films and Balance Pictures. We have also donated to her 100% volunteer non-profit charity Washington Cares (visit their Facebook page here!) to help those affected in Puerto Rico.
Thank you Betty and we are inspired by you and people like you!
